MAC Mocha!

I can safely say that I am now addicted to lipsticks. I think my collection has grown just a tad! Last month I got a new MAC lipstick (oops) in 'Mocha'. I was looking for a brown undertoned nude colour and this one looked perfect. On my lips it looks more peachy, which I like, it's something I wear now when I go heavy on the eyes. I know that I will get more use out of this when it's summer because of the brighter tone of the lipstick.

It's a satin finish, but it feels like a matte finish to me. I like wearing this by dabbing it on my lips and blending with my finger. I would definitely wear a lip balm underneath it to give a little moisture to the lips.

Blistex!

This post is gong to be an utter rave. I am loving this Blistex MedPlus pot. I have been using Carmex for the last probably 4 years, I loved it when I first applied it, the slight tingle and my lips looking cared for. But after the third tube of it, the magic had somewhat disappeared. I don't know if this is just because my lips got used to it or it no longer worked for me, but I knew it was time for a change.

I definitely wanted to try Blistex as a brand because I have heard so many good things about it via YouTube and Blogs. I'm not sure why I was drawn to the tub rather than the tubes but it's the one that I got. All I can say is from the moment that I put it on I have loved it.

It has improved my lip condition a lot since using it. I haven't gotten any dry patches since using this, which, with the weather change is a miracle. I use this morning and night. I don't take it out with me because I don't think the tub is commuter friendly (don't want those manky germs infesting my lovely Blistex). When I have forgotten to put this on my lips in the morning my lips are fine all day, but I definitely notice that my lips are dry by the end of the night. I slather this on before I go to sleep and in the morning I can just rub off the dry skin (sorry, that doesn't sound nice) and my lips are lovely and soft again!

It's got a slightly a mediciney (not a word I know) smell with a mix of coconut (ok, that doesn't sound appealing but it's not as bad as that), it's not offensive and I like it. It was £2.59 for 7grams of product!

I'm so happy that I got this product! If you're looking for a new lip care product I would definitely encourage you try this little beauty!

Rimmel K.Moss 107!

So yesterday was my first opportunity to wear the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in 107 that I bought a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is that I love it, even my mum was impressed! I think that says it all. I went out for dinner to wagamama's with a friend and decided I would rock a bold lip.

Formulation:

Obviously it's a matte finish but it's also creamy/velvety in consistency so it doesn't leave the lips feeling dry. I worked it into the lips first with a lip brush, blotted and then applied a second coat straight from the bullet and it lasted all evening, even whilst I ate. It does transfer, so my chopsticks had lovely raspberry kisses on them.

Colour pay off:

The pigmentation is amazing and the price tag (£5.49) really matches! This is my first Rimmel Lipstick (weird I know) and I am definitely impressed with their quality. I find it hard to wear raspberry type colours because they don't really suit asian skins but this one really didn't offend me when I applied it. So if you're olive toned definitely have a look at this product.

Plum & Wine ... Lips!

It's this time of year that makes everyone want to break out those wines and plums, lipsticks that is. And why not! I for one love them, they suit my skin tone far more than pink tones people wear during summer. I have collected a few (ok, a lot) reds, plums and wine colours over the years and I have to admit I've never really been brave enough to wear them in the day, but I have a feeling this year is going to be different.

I thought I would share with you the lip products that I know I will be wearing whether it's day or night this Autumn.

L-R: No 7 Grace | MAC Rebel | MAC Viva Glam I | Revlon Black Cherry

Firstly I'm going to start off with my No.7 gem, 'Grace' (Stay Perfect range), I would describe it as a brownish burgundy. I love the formulation of this lipstick, creamy but not shiny (suppose that would be a satin finish?). This is the only formulation I like out of all the No.7 lipsticks, the others are too shiny. I know I'm going to be wearing this particular lipstick a lot in the coming months.

Next are my two MAC lipsticks; 'Rebel', a blogger favourite. I understand the 'hype' around this lipstick, it's a lovely dark black-current colour. You can wear it sheerly by just putting a little bit on and rubbing it in with your fingers or a full on dark lip (like the picture). Totally vampy!

My other MAC lippy is the one I wore in my last post; 'Viva Glam I' (matte). It's a gorgeous burnt red colour. I love the colour payoff of this lipstick and the way it looks on the lips, definitely going to repurchase this when I run out. As always the smell of MAC lipsticks is Vanilla…I lurvvve it!! I could just sniff it all day! That's not weird right?

My final Lipstick is going to be Revlon 'Black Cherry'. This is a similar depth to 'Rebel' but red version. This formulation is got a bit of shine to it, but nothing too extreme. This is another one that I am going to get a lot of use out of. I initially bought it for my mum, but she doesn't wear it…so obviously I am! =)

I know all of them are non glossy finishes, but that is what I prefer personally. But I do have some sheerer deep autumnal tones that you could wear if you're scared (as I once was) of wearing a full on dark/deep lip.

L-R: Models Own Pomegrante | Revlon Berry Smoothie | Revlon Bourdeaux

My Models Own Balm in 'Pomegrante' is lovely if you just want to dabble in a darker colour for the day time, it's quite sheer and just gives a hint of colour, a bit like your lip was just bitten…sexy! ;-) You can also build up the colour if you want a glossy bitten look. And the smell of this is just….yumtastic!

Something that is berry toned (obvious in the name) is Revlon's lip butter in 'Berry Smoothie'. The picture shows it to be more pinky but I think on most other lips it will come out more berry toned, as the swatch looks.

Lastly is a lipgloss; Revlon Colourburst lipgloss in 'Bordeaux'. The pigmentation of this gloss is just…wow! It's a similar tone to the 'Black Cherry' but you can apply this so there is a less colour and obviously your lips will be luscious and glossy.

So there are the lippies that I am going to be making use of with the seasonal change! What are you going to be pulling out this Autumn? Have you tired any of those mentioned? What do you think?

Buttery Goodness!

Whyyyy do I go crazy when there are offers??! I mean I’m not the only one right?? Right??

There’s a 3 for 2 offer going on in Boots across all makeup, I’ve been aware of it for while but I was waiting for these beauties to be released! If I’m honest I wanted all of them, but obviously I can’t justify that. Anyway, 6 is more than enough, even the cashier was looking at me like “really?”

Now I know there have been abijillion (exaggerated of course) posts about these Revlon lip butters! But my goodness, they just look so beautiful! At £7.99, it’s not my favourite price point, especially knowing that they are cheaper in North America! But I suppose I still bought them!

Anywho…on to the product itself! I really like them; there is a brilliant colour selection, they are super moisturising and they last for a fairly long time (4 hours without eating anything). I think it’s a really nice product for spring/summer because it’s an easy application of a sheer wash of colour for the lips, especially when you don't want to wear a lot of makeup because of the heat.

I know I’m going to get good use out of them! I think they are quite similar to the 17 moisture shine lipsticks; although the 17 moisture shine lipsticks don’t have as many colours to choose from.

I definitely think that you shouldn’t do what I did and buy a bunch! I know I will get a lot of use out them all but for someone new to make up or just experimenting I would suggesting getting a colour that suits them best.
