Now I think we have all heard of Lauren Luke? Made famous by YouTube and her clear talent with make up. I remember watching her videos when she was developing her own line of brushes! She would use them and they looked exactly like MAC brushes! I wanted them! I stalked her website looking for when they would get released and it always just said ‘coming soon’.
Needless to say, I lost interest, not because I didn’t want them but just because I couldn’t be bothered to stalk the website anymore. But then I watched one of her videos around my last birthday, and I wanted them again. I looked on the website again and hurrah! There they were! This made me happy. But then I looked at the prices! This made me even more ecstatic! They were a FRACTION of the price compared to MAC brushes!
So, I asked my friend to get me the dupes for the MAC 239, MAC 217 and an angled brush for my birthday. And they didn’t disappoint!

- Although they look similar the MAC 239 is a lot more flexible than the Flat Eye Shadow Brush which is a little stiffer.
- The MAC 239 has softer bristles, but this is me being pedantic.
- The quality is the same.
- I haven’t experienced any shedding.
- It picks up shadow pigment just as well as the MAC.
- And best of all it was £4.00! Compared to £19.00!

- The MAC 217 has more bristles so the movement is a bit more controlled compared to the Blending Eye Shadow Brush.
- Again the bristles are softer on a MAC 217.
- Again the quality is the same.
- The Blending Eye Shadow Brush blends out shadow just as well as the MAC 217.
- Again haven’t experienced any shedding
- And it was £4.50! Compared to £16.00!

Now I don’t have a MAC angled brush but I thought I would put this brush in for completeness. I love this angled brush because it is so fine/thin. It picks up colour well. It has kept its shape and it hasn’t shed. And it was £3.25!
I would definitely recommend checking out her website. I know that mine were a gift, but honestly if my birthday hadn’t been coming up I would have just bought them myself.
